I don't know if this has been posted yet but I have a question and need opinions, thanks in advance... I have a large music & video collection (over 3tb) all on one hard drive. The problem is when I have hard drive issues like a drive suddenly going RAW it takes forever to recover, scan & if I'm lucky repair because the drive is 5tb. Here's my question, all media on 1 drive or spread out over various smaller drives?

I have all mine on one, but sync two different machines via Dropbox in case there's ever an issue

Get a raid setup at home, on the road, split the risk across a couple of drives, fill any spare slot on your machine with SD cards.

I always carry two identically synced drives with me.

If you can afford it SSD drives are super durable for a portable solution
Can't beat backups on 1000 year optical media (DVD) for a secure backup.
