Tópico: External Drive Question

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

Hi Guys, I'm off on me travels and am planning to bring my laptop with me to do a few shows on the road. Can I just ask a couple of questions regarding my External Drive..

As it stands my External drive is connected to my main pc. it holds all my relevent music including track POI's tags and everything else that has been 'coded' to a track via VDJ file Operations. Can I confirm that it is just a case of plugging it into my laptop, opening VDJ and all the tracks will be the same i.e. cue points, track analysis, tags etc ? I know the easy way to test this is simply try it but I'm hesitant in case it screws it up so thought it would be good to ask first !

Also whilst on this subject I have small but resonably good usb mic I would assume its just a case of setting this up on the laptop (windows 7) and adding it as a source in the audo settings?

Many thanks for any adivce offered.

Yes, should work just fine.
It's possible that VDJ will at first show your files as missing. That can happen if the external gets another drive letter than on you main pc.
In that case, just select your root drive and do a rightlick and select recurse.
Even loading a track onto a deck will relocate the file and the missing icon will go away.

Perfect many thanks Pach

Do you have any views on the usb mic question or anyone else please ?

A USB mic only work for recording or, broadcasting. Not for PA use, from my experience. If you're looking for a mic to make announcements and such, invest in a Shure SM58, in either the corded or cordless configuration, would be my suggestion.
