I work with virtual DJ and an external mixer. I always do mp3, only sound. Now they asked me for a disco party, where I want to do video.
Where I did not have any problem with the gain in the past, I have now problems with the gain of the video-files. There is a difference in volume.
Sometimes it's to hard, sometimes it's to soft. When I re-analyse BPM, it's set ok again, but it doesn't remember.
I tried setting gain to auto, auto+remember,... i can't find it. Normaly when playing mp3 everyting is ok with setting gain to auto.
What do I wrong?

What type of video files are you using? Where do you get your videos from? I use auto gain, and a controller. There will always be different levels from file to file, but the software and controller lets me see it, before I go live with the mix. It is a lot easier to adjust with a controller knob, than on the skin. I do all video and do not have an issue where I am adjusting my levels all night, only on a few files.

I have .mp4-files. I use an external mixer, so I can't change my gain knob manualy. In the options I put autogain on 'auto'. I don't have any problem with mp3-files (I use VDJ a lot for music, never had a problem, sometimes a slight difference you easily can adjust with the DJM).
But with mp4 there is a big difference in volume. And when the song is playing, I can re-analyse BPM etc, and than there is no problem any more more. It adapts on the fly, on the right level. But the next time I start VDJ it's the same again. It doesn't remember the setting. So before I start a song, I have to rightclick and re-analyse again. So there is something wrong in remembering the analyse, because after doing one by one before loading it's ok. I can't figger out why VDJ does not remember the analyse of the mp4, but it remembers for mp3.

What if you re-analyse those files before loading on-by-one, did that correct the level? And dit it remember the level next time you start VDJ? 95% of my files are also ok, maybe it's because the are coded well from the start.
