Tema: Pioneer DJ DJM-S9 Mixer - Page: 3

Esta parte del tópico es antigua y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

When is this mixer out in the UK, I see the US has it, but as yet I still have not been contacted to say it is coming.

Well you can always guarantee two things with Pioneer in the UK ..... their gear will be late and very expensive!

Communication from them is zero then one day it will magically appear!

Oh boy. Always something. Hopefully something simple that is.

Following, any more news on this? Should I look in other threads? Didn't know if there was an official topic for the Pioneer DJM S9 and Virtual DJ, thanks.

Pioneer has very recently released MIDI data for the S9, so we could come up with mapping files.
We will need your help on this.
- Install the necessary drivers for the DJM-S9.
- Open VirtualDJ and head to the OPTIONS tab of the Settings window.
- Enable the "Show Advanced Options" and search for the setting "CreateMidilog"
- Set it to Yes and close VirtualDJ 8.
- Make sure the DJM-S9 is connected and powered on (preferrably no other MIDI controller at that time)
- Open VirtualDJ and close it again right after (no need to do anything else)
- Post here the content of the Log Report.txt file you will find in Documents/VirtualDJ folder.

It would also help if you could try to create an audio configuration with the DJM-S9.
Most likely it should be ..
Deck 1 .... Pioneer DJM-S9 ASIO .. chans 1,2
Deck 2 ... Pioneer DJM-S9 ASIO ..chans 3,4
but it could be different. Let us know which audio setup works with this unit or post a screenshot here.

Thanks

Updated windows and the drivers worked, not had chance to use mixer yet sort Serato out, however Serato support has been great.

Charlie, you have mentioned this twice in this thread. How does this working with Serato, or great Serato support, help the Virtual DJ user? If you want to help the Serato users, why not use their forum?

Here is the screen shot of the s9 settings.

I installed the driver from pioneer site and then restarted windows. Selected external mixer and it works. Also put timecode in there.

EDIT. Never mind, found those from the manual.

If anyone else (except prasanf who is already in my list) wants to try some preliminary mapping files, please either post here or PM me.

@djdad,

Was wondering if you were able to create the midi definition file yet? If u could share that with me I would be very thankful as I want to do a bit of somple mapping for the LED lights on the buttons.

Also take a look at the behaviour of the crossfader. It sends out 6 signals. Is that normal? I can't seem to get it to work with the simple midi wrapper.

Cheers boss.

Hi the crossfader is sorted now.

But I can't understand how to get LED lights to work (this is by first time doing custom mapping). If you or anyone could please help me out with a snippet of code to use for this mixer I would be grateful. The midi code list is here - the list of MIDI messages http://cdn.pioneerdj.com/-/media/pioneerdj/downloads/midi-mapping/djm-s9/djm-s9_list_of_midi_message_e.pdf?la=en

So I have done a half decent mapping for the S9 and a midi wrapper. I'm trying to share it here but seems u can only share images.
