I am asking my parents for a djcontroller. Now my question is with a controller for virtual dj, people say that you have to buy the Pro version. But whitout that, wouldn't it work?

If you buy a controller, and it comes with a LE version of Virtual DJ, you will be able to do everything that the controller has to offer. Pay attention to this next statement; you can only use this controller. If you want to use any controller on the market, you will have to get the Pro version of Virtual DJ. If you want to use Virtual DJ, make sure that the controller you buy comes with the LE version. Some controllers come with other software. Even if you buy one of these controllers, you will be able to use them with the Pro version.

Alternatively, you can buy a Plus license for VDJ which works with the specific controller you own. This is for home use only.

The final option is to pay a monthly subscription to the Pro version. If you're not going to DJ professionally then an LE version or a Plus license will be all you need.

The above applies to VDJ 8. Some (older) controllers may still include an LE version of VDJ 7, for which there are no Plus or Subscription options.

Home licences only allow 10 minutes of controller use when you boot vdj.
Most controllers come with a limited (LE) version of a dj software, this will let you use the controller with no further cost & no time restrictions, but not all vdj features are available.

A "plus" licence AKA controller licence will give you most (almost all) of the vdj features but will only work with the specified controller. This is an initial lower cost option than a full pro licence.

Not all vdj features are available with the no Pro version, but do you know recording if that works?

and is that also with the LE you only get 10 minutes? or... what is that?
