If the curser is in the search bar the sample hot keys do not work.....this did not happen in VDJ 7......I think I'm going back to using it until this newer version is sorted out

IF the cursor is on the search bar then NO keyboard shortcut will work. That's expected behavior to avoid firing commands when you actually try to search for something.

Not true, in Virtual DJ 7 the hotkeys for the samples works every time. Pressing the function key while the cursor is in the search bar should be allowed

That was 7, this is 8. I don't know, maybe I'm missing something. If my cursor is in the search box, I'm searching for something. I have "T" mapped to open my text box. If I'm searching for something, I want the "T" to be involved in the search. I have "Esc" mapped to open my side list, If I hit it while in the search field, it removes the cursor. My space bar, puts the cursor in the search field, and while I'm there, it gives me a space. Maybe, after I put the cursor in the search box, and then hit the space bar again, it should put another cursor in the search field? How do you purpose to have it both ways? Either you are searching, or you are not.
