Interesting. Wonder what will be in store now with them down the road. Will the quality still be as good? Will prices come down? Will we see some weird mutation of Numark/Rane/Denon in an all in one piece of equipment? Will we start to see high quality Rane sound cards in lower end Numark or Denon stuff, therefore making prices on Numark and Denon go up? This will be a development that I think a lot of people will want to follow over the coming months.

Somewhere in a Pioneer DJ office, a group of share holders are probably jumping for joy because they are believing that Rane (their closest competitor) will now fall or lose quality, pushing the market more towards the Pioneer side.

So it's basically Rekordbox vs Serato .... or will that be replaced by Engine?

NI have their own hardware for Traktor but Atomix only develop software which neither InMusic or Pioneer will use on their controllers and will deliberately try to lock out.

The DJ side of Rane will be absorbed into the Numark/Denon team at inMusic HQ

Not nice at all.

It sucks to hear that the entire workforce will be laid off the end of this month. And the fact that now all Rane equipment will be made in China, which means lower quality and next to no support. But then again, I'm pretty sure Pioneer makes all their stuff in China too, so who knows. I bet we'll see an influx of Rane counterfeits coming out once they start being built overseas too. lol

This is just heading the same way as iOS vs Android.

Smaller players will be bought over / killed off and there will be less choice all round.
