Tópico: "Factory default" mapping question

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

"You dont have to delete any mapping file. Simply goto the CONTROLLERS tab of settings and make sure the "factory default" mapping is selected ......."

Lets say that a controller was mapped and a file name is given as "DJT" on the right side and on a second occasion something else was changed from the defaut mapping.

So on the second occasion, do I still select "factory default" or "DJT" mapping to make the change?

(b) to keep both map changes together do I rename the mapping the second time as "DJT"?

The factory default mapping cannot be changed. It is internal and holds the default assigned actions. The default mapping may be updated across builds and its updated actions do not update/change any custom mapping..

Each time you change something on the factory default mapping, a Custom mapping is automatically generated. Optionally, you may rename this custom mapping to whatever you want.

Once the Custom Mapping (or renamed) is saved, you have 2 options in the Mapping list to select. If you choose the Custom mapping, then each time you change something there, you just need to save (will ask you that on exit anyways).

If you select the factory default mapping again, and try to change something, it will then generate a Custom Mapping (1)

Hope that helps

"The factory default mapping cannot be changed." Got that.

"Each time you change something on the factory default mapping, a Custom mapping is automatically generated" OK got that .

Maybe I was not clear, my question was if I have to do multiple changes to the default mapping on different days how do I have all those the changes reflect in the final mapping? My question was, should I keep renaming the custom mapping to the same file name to keep previously mapped setting?

You can't change the default mapping, as stated. When Virtual DJ updates it's default mappings, it will generate a new custom mapping, as I understand. If you change one of your custom mappings, or make a new one, you save it. You can name it, or VDJ will put a (1) or (2) next to custom mapping, if you make multiple mappings for the same controller.

Once you make the changes jus hit the save disc icon ..5his will keep all the old settings and add the new settings also
So unless you want two completely different mappings theres no need to name multiple mappings ...you just update the one custom map each time you edit or change it ..and the default is always there to go back to or start over lol..hope that helps answer the question you're asking

"you just update the one custom map each time you edit or change it ..."

Thank you, this answer it.
