I found another topic here stating that someone had the same issue. Virtual DJ just says "waiting for sound" and does not record anything at all. II've tried reloading it, restarting my pc, and nothing. ever since i updated to 8.2 i have had this issue. the other person said it was just a sound card setting. Well for me, its not. Whatever i do it will not start recording. Looking for some help on this please.

We'll need much more detailed info from you before anyone can offer a solution.

What controller are you using? What are your audio config settings? Please either provide a detailed description or post a screen shot.

When VDJ is wating it would indicate that that the audio level is not loud enough. check the Record VU meter in Master tab to make certain that you are getting a level.

Your connection logs indicate that you are using a DDJ-SR

Please make sure that you have referred to the manual for the SR here: http://www.virtualdj.com/documents/Pioneer%20DDJ-SR%20VirtualDJ%20Operation%20Guide.pdf

According to page 16 It would appear that you must route the source record in if you wish to record the master out with the Mic. Please check that then retest.

Also of you are recording with out the SR connected make sure that your audio is configured correctly for the internal card.

As stated above, if no audio is detected, VirtualDJ will wait for that. But in case you want start recording a bit earlier e.g. for some reason you want a silent part before your mix), you can disable this behavior from Options --> setting RecordWaitforSound to No

If you are using the VMS 4.1 go into Settings and then Audio.
Click on the ASIO button below the Output section, this button is fuzzy for me but you can make it out.
A dialog box will pop up labeled ASIO settings.
You will see a Master Rec under the Ch. Group, change the setting to 9&10 in
Now you can record!!!
