I have over 500 tracks that have information in the title I want to remove. It's consistent information, so is there any way to mass edit the tracks or am I stuck doing it one at a time?

Video files were ripped from DVD with file extensions in the Title tag, so there's extra text in the song title.
"Get The Party Started.mpg.MP4"
Need to get the .mpg.MP4 out of the song title.

I am a huge fan of Flash Renamer. It's been about 13 years since I've started using it, and it is the quickest way to clean up files for me. Windows, and also works under Wine.

Ok so you can't bulk fix the title inside vdj,
using a renaming program means you'll lose you cue points or have to relink [eugh]
best bet would be to ctrl+h in the database xml
search for
and replace with
I'd back up your database first, just incase.

Mp3tag is what you need. Handles Mp4 files as well. Best of all it's free.

The Mp4 optimize option is also useful to run on Mp4 files to remove any junk in the headers.
To do what you want you need to create an action in Mp3tag to batch edit your files. Very easy to do.
I use it for all my Mp3 and Mp4 files.
