I am using VDJ 8.2 Build 3471, auto gain set to auto and gain slider includes auto gain set to no. The gain knob moves automatically to show the gain. However on the deck there is a small box under the BPM that show gain and that reads 0.0db all the time which does not match the gain knob measurement. Is this correct? Am I reading this wrong or are the two not the same?

Since you have chosen the Gain knob not to include the applied Gain, the Gain knob indicates how much Gain VirtualDJ has applied to the track in order the track to reach 0dB (or the value set by the zeroDB setting).
The value on the deck is showing the current level of the track including the applied Gain. If you want to see the original Gain of the track , before VirtualDJ applied the necessary Gain , open the Track with Tag Editor.
