Please help, it's a nightmare!
Running the latest version of VDJ8 and wishing I wasn't as I've know idea what has happened to the search facility as it now finding tracks within VDJ on my hdd that shouldn't be there in VDJ. The only tracks which should be there are my favourites folder and sub folders. I haven't added these tracks to VDJ but I have tried to start a fresh with VDJ, yet this still this problem still happens with a fresh start.
Any advice on this would be a great help.
Thanks.

What do you mean by "shouldn't be there"?
Are these tracks that you've deleted? Moved? Renamed?

They are tracks which are on the hdd, say for example my personal collection or downloads which haven't yet been sorted out for use in VDJ. They are not missing, deleted, moved or renamed. These are tracks I wouldn't have in VDJ and they were not being found until I started using the latest version of VDJ 8!
Once of a time I would just have my favourites folders and sub folders and only analyse them for bpm's and they would be the only tracks to be in search within VDJ. it seems to be finding all my tracks on my hdd rather than the specifics of my favourites folders.
Is there something within options to specify the correct file path?
Even starting with a fresh set up hasn't sorted out this problem.

Hey Craig,
try hitting the little button next to the search box and select search current folder instead of search all local drives
maybe that will help

By default, the option autoSearchDB will cause VDJ to add any songs that are browsed to to be added to the search database.
If you disable it, you have to manually right-click the folders you want to use and select Add To Search Database every time you add new music to them.
To remove current folders that you don't want from the search db, right-click the folder and select Batch->Remove from search db.

Recursing the C drive (as a drive) is always a bad idea... Not only because of the unwanted data that may be added on the db, but because VirtualDj will have to recurse through every system folder...
So for users that store their music on C drive, just create a parent folder to put your media in, and recurse that instead...
Another way to go is to set as favorite the 1-2-3 main folders of your music collection and recurse individually...
