Tema: ACPI driver high DPC

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

I’ve recently started using a Asus ROG laptop as secondary pc and it has got high DPC mainly caused by ACPI driver.
It can be as high as 10mS so I wonder how you solved this bad behaving driver.

have you tried disabling it? or updating the driver

Disabling it stops the charging functionality
And driver is up to date

Windows 7 pro 64 bit

Did that laptop come with Win7 originally ?
I would definitely try Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 and make sure I download and install all correct official drivers

It was windows 8 originally
I have W7 on my other pc’s so thought would make it more reliable have the same OS
But Asus provides all the drivers for it in W7 versions which I used

Does the latency cause you any problems?

Adion, not what I have seen. But knowing there are 10mS dpc spikes makes me worried.
The rest of the drivers seem to behave fine and give very low DPC.
But, does W10 have no dpc issues with the ACPI driver ?

I don't have the same laptop as you, but I also have an ASUS running windows 10, and latencymon shows average around 120 us latency, highest 500 us, and highest execution time 130 us, so it does seem better than yours.

In my case it's W7 pro 64 bit

Most of the time the dpc from acpi is around 150-160uS but can peak to 10mS especially plugging in and out the charger

Highest peak I could get was 2ms when repeatedly plugging in and out charger, but no drop-outs even with 128 sample latency (wasapi exclusive mode)

Anyway, if you don't get any drop-outs I wouldn't be worried too much about it.

I remember that i had this acpi issue with a previous laptop and Asus released a BIOS update.
