It's weird how this is set up in the first place, instead of changing it from settings you change it from the little dot in the karaoke song list. OK... I changed it.
And the old image is still there. The other file name is in the settings but it will not change. I've tried other images. Nothing works to change the background image.

What Karaokeskin are you using?
Could perhaps be a skin with a "hardcoded" background

Not sure what karaoke skin (put the computer away for work later tonight) but the background image was changed once, if it was hard-coded how is that even possible?

OK, I've had this selected all along:
for Karaoke - karaoke
Displays the default Karaoke Video Skin between singers. Additional options will appear in the menu as more Video Skins are added from the Extensions Tab
