In case you have not tried posting mixes to YouTube lately for fear of copyright strikes, perhaps now is the time to try again.
YouTube must have purchased the rights to a massive catalog of new music lately as all of my recent mixes (8 of 8) have posted there without any problems.
This means the artists are compensated for any plays on your mixes, which is a win for the artist, and for you. You cannot be compensated except for the promotional aspects of your mix.
Exceptions MIGHT be super popular hits or songs by certain artists that guard their copyright closely and/or have not sold the rights to YouTube.
Good luck.

Youtube has the rights to most music, so can be fine broadcasting there yes ;-)
You might not be able to monetize it, but thats ok ;-)

I've posted several mixes on YouTube without a problem, but it does take some effort to avoid songs that'll be muted or blocked. I agree with you that now's better than ever!
