I am trying to find out, why I can't record anything. I've checked the tutorial, but even though I started a deck, it still says "Waiting for sound to begin recording" after the track started playing.
Any ideas?

You have a "Record" entry in VDJ sound settings perhaps? to an line-in on the computer that has no sound?
Usually you shouldnt have such an entry, unless you use an external mixer or hardware that require a loopback of the audio to a computer line in

I had indeed. It automatically switches to that, when starting VDJ.
Put the record on mic, then I was able to record! :)
