Tema: Headphones distortion sound DDJ-400
Start to be very annoying.,.
I have ddj ergo 10 years with no problems
I take brand new ddj 400 for a month now and I can not enjoy it.....
(Tecnicals test the controller and is full functional no issue)
So....
Mac book pro mid 2012
16gb ram
Mojave
Vdj latest version

After a while headphones start a distortion sound. I must reconnect controller to fix that....
If I set internal sound card as headphones no problems.....

If I connect a external drive that starts immediately after vdj recognize it.....

To bad that a can use my brand new controller to my gigs...

Please help

DDJ-400 is powered over USB. It does not have it's own PSU.
Therefore the first thing I would investigate is that your MAC can provide enough power to it.
If you use a USB hub to connect DDJ-400 then you should really use a powered one. Also if you use a USB hub with an external hard drive connected on it, it would worth to test without the drive attached to see if it stops the problem.

Generally speaking, distortion issues are quite different than complete disconnection issues.

Just now I came to the club i connect everything I open laptop, vdj, load a track and immediately start distortion.....
I close vdj I reattach ddj400 reopen same think....
I restart laptop and for now is ok....
Cross fingers 🤞 not to have any problems.....

Same problem here.

What worked for me is first starting Virtual DJ, let it fully open, and afterwards plugging in the DDJ 400 USB to the Computer.

Even if this turns out to work in the long run, this is definitely an issue that needs to be fixed by Virtual DJ.

i have 2 controllers, the ddj-sb3 and the ddj- sr2. the distortion problem only happens when i use the ddj-sb3. the audio randomly distorts then stops. then i press stop, and start and it plays again. happens at least 2-3x a night.
