Tópico: Lights on Numark mixdeck go off

Could someone advised on fixing this problem. Whenever I switch my Numark mixdeck from Master to Midi at start up, all the lights on the top of the controller would go off and the laptop wouldn't sync. Now I just realized that my laptop battery isn't charging. I have a 2011 MacBook pro. Could the battery be causing this issue? Or is it because I'm using VDJ8. When I was using 7 I never had this issue.
