Tema: Two 4 deck controllers
I may be being very dumb here and tell me if I am, however...

I have two four deck controllers and I have connected to VDJ and all works fine but what I am trying to do is control 4 decks individually and if I press the deck select button it changes the decks for both controllers - obviously. So my question is - Is there a setting to stop the deck select buttons from controlling both decks ?

The reason for trying this is so I can control 4 decks independently rather than having to press the deck select button

Cheers James

No you'd need to remap to do this cleanly, it also depends on your controllers

I have a prime 4 and a Traktor S3

Well it'd be the s3 I'd remap, you've got your left/right-deck buttons that's where your issue starts.
lots of remapping of the common elements like so.
device_side 'left' ? deck 3 action : deck 4 action

you'd probably be somewhere close.

Before I attempt remapping, if I used the 99deck skin is there an option to assign channels to decks ?

theoretically yes, realistically no. every single mapping entry would be a huge 100 query script.
I wouldn't even consider it without definition files for all devices.

Thanks for your replies ! I've connected my 2 channel controller along side my prime 4, changed some settings and a bit of mapping and all is well thankfully ! So much more fun having four individual decks !

Perhaps could use assign_controller and avoid remapping.
So try to put deck 3 assign_controller to the ONINIT key of the S3
