You still can. The Filename can be changed from Right-click->File Operations ->Rename, (you get a popup window) or in Tag Editor.
Works fine here.

I'll try again. >Right click on file operations. drop down to rename . add info. click the window. mouse over the file (which is not loaded on either deck) but now I get no change? Been doing it since 2013. I'm lost.

Ok, I just did the new update & it erased all of the talk-up intros I needed for my radio show! What's the point of updates?
