Hi
Is Mac Mini M2 pro, 16GB RAM, 10 cpu/16gpu good for Stems?
Or is Mac Mini M4, 16 GB RAM, 10cpu/10gpu better/worse?
It’s my first time bying Mac, so i have no idea.
I want it to run smooth.

On that note, it would be nice if Atomix could provide a chart of realtime stem calculation speeds for certain CPU/GPU combinations to give people an idea.
There have been quite a few individual posts but nothing has been collated in to a central chart.

Any Mac M series processors are excellent for processing 'live' stems. I have a 2 year old M1 and it works fine after a few months of Stem problems. It was sorted with the last couple of macOS updates; Sequoai 15.3.1, 15.4 and the latest 15.4.1
Teddy Swims - The Door 3.33 mins - stems processing 12.7 seconds
Sonny Fodera - Somedays 3.27 mins - stems processing 12.86 seconds
Timed with my iPhone 15 Pro, includes loading and processing stems.
So, typically 3 1/2 minute song takes 12.75 ish seconds to process on my M1 Mac.
M1 MacBook Pro (14-inch, 2022), Apple Silicon M1 Pro, 16gb, 500 gb SSD, macOS Sequoia 15.4.1, VirtualDJ v2025-m b8553.
External 2tb Crucial X9 SSD formatted APFS containing over 50k Music & Video databases.

Cheers Les, so that's appropriately 16x real-time speed.
My wife has the original imac M1 and it was around 10x on that but I haven't checked for a while now. As you say maybe it has improved since.
I'm guessing the newer M series processors will be faster still.
