Can someone tell me how to change the "effect" for each pad? for example, pad four is defaulted to "Phaser", however, for example I want to change this to a "reverb" effect. I have searched forums, manuals and general internet...I have found references to the pad editor, however, I can not find any guides or documentation on the default effects available, parameters, etc...In all other DJ Software, changing the assigned effect is simple, most often an drop down menu...

Am I missing something?

Thanks,

padfx 'Phaser' 60% 80% smart_pressed

That's how it's mapped now, call the phaser effect with dial 1 at 60% and dial 2 at 80%, smart_pressed just means a hold and release it will act momentary, a quick press will make it work as a toggle.

I understand were is lists in the Pad editor, however I and looking for a list of different effects and how to assign them to a specific pad for example:

In Rekordbox: there are drop downs for each pad:

Testing and comparing Rekordbox, Serato and VDJ...VDJ is packed with features and I am surprised it is so difficult to change the pad effects in VDJ, as well as the absence of any documentation on how to edit the pads, and what the syntax and coding that needs to be used...

In VirtualDJ, vdjscript is really the basis of the functionality in pads.

While yes it seems more overwhelming at first, you'll quickly realize that doing what you are asking isn't that hard to write a script for, and you can do way more from within the program as you can literally program a sequence of things to do on a button press. Also, these pad pages are saved with the software settings and assignable to any controller, unlike MIDI Mapping in say like, Serato, which is saved relative to a particular controller.

Try taking a look at existing pad pages (e.g. checkout Pad FX pad pages and look at/copy the scripts as a foundation for what you want to do), check out locodog's Script School forum post, or ask questions here if you need more help.

The list of effects are within the Effects drop down, and I believe (if I'm not mistaken), they can be referenced in effect verb uses by the same name you see there, enclosed in quotes
