Doesn't look like lyrics are generated for prepared stems is this a bug or intentional?

when i generate prepared no lyrics get made. only if i have real time turned on just to clarify what i mean

I was just about to post - wanted to test the lyrics so loaded up Rapper's Delight and turned the lyrics video effect on. Not seeing any lyrics on the video output. Ditto with karaoke.

Bend Me, Shape Me (American Breed) - The first few lines are missing. Of those that are showing, some are wrong.
 
Options -Extensions - Visualizations showing grayed out nothing?
a couple of others showing limited options that have full menu previously -not sure if by design or not

It's working with prepared stems here. Did you see this happen on all your song, or just one? (might be that the AI server got overloaded just when you tried this particular song)

In VDJ2025, you could "uninstall" or "reinstall" internal plugins from the extension page. in VDJ2026, this is now done in the fx list editor, so the extention page now only shows real third-party plugins (and nobody made any for visualization)

As everything done with AI, it's never going to be perfect, and is bound to have some mistakes sometimes. Usually, just clicking "Re-analyze" on the lyrics editor, will ask the AI to try again and he probably will get it right the second time. If not, then manual edit is there to help.
 
As far as I can tell, you have to have stems enabled. I use prepared stems (actually prepared in external software: Nuostems), and the lyrics will only display if I enable stem generation in VDJ. So I just enable reduced mode, and that gets the lyrics working (and luckily it doesn't actually use the reduced quality stems for playback). Would be nice to not have to enable stem gen at all though.
 
Stems enabled here but getting mixed results.

With the full version of Rapper's Delight it makes no attempt at extracting lyrics, and therefore gives me no lyrics editor (so I can't add or correct). The half length edit does extract lyrics and provides a lyrics editor.

Another track I just tried, it attempts to extract lyrics and provides a lyrics editor, but there are no lyrics shown in the editor or on the waveform. The track does have a vocal.

the engine indeed doesnt try to extract lyrics on tracks that are too long,
for the shorter version, what happens if you try to click on re-analyze in the lyrics editor?
 
I didn't try because it did have lyrics. I'm just going disable the lyrics stuff.
 
I think for me the lyrics/karaoke part isn't something I'd ever use. Karafun basic is £6.99 a month and having the ability for users to use a QR code to browse the tracks then send them to my laptop is still the easiest option.

The folder search bar is great however, will probably use that quite a lot.

The AI prompt again is pretty good, especially if you are asked for music outwith your knowledge or collection. I like how it highlights the tracks in your library (assuming your tags are correct) and if you don't have the track it instantly gets loaded from the relevant streaming service.

The one thing however that seems to be springing up across a lot of the socials is the lack of fluid beatgrid. I think a lot of people had an expectation that this would be the headline feature of VDJ 2026.

Still also no communication regarding Apple Music or Spotify despite the hundreds of requests for these services.
 
Understandable. We request fluid beatgrids, we get A.I. lyrics. :-)

Not much different to Denon DJ though. We vote for certain things, wait years (literally) then they add something nobody asked for :-)

Have to say though that having Sounswitch built in to the controller does make my small kit gigs far easier.

 
fluid beatgrid is in the work. it didnt make it in for this release because it’s not yet at the level we want it to be, but it will come soon.

apple music is fully implemented on our side, but apple has been delaying their approval for months for unknown reasons. they promised “after the holidays”.
spotify also awaiting their approval.
 
Any chance on Amazon music with direct purchase since everyone is using AWS anyway?

it was happening with all songs when stems are told to prepare by right clicking the file and saving a stem file
 
Thank You Stephane & the rest of the team, Always a few steps ahead of the competition. The lyric visualization is pretty awesome.
