Exactly, it would be so nice to be able to export a "warped" track to CDJ.
 
It would basically need to be re-recorded though, and saved as a new track.

VDJ is pulling those grids into line live as it plays, so unless CDJs can do that, it needs to be embedded into the recording.

I thought the track was "processed" and saved to ram and played as an ordinary track without the need to do anything "on the fly"
That makes it perhaps a bit more complex I'm afraid.
 
It could be cached I guess (likely is) and applying the lock has instant results so there doesn't seem to be much processing going on. My point is it's not saved in that state.

The file itself is not altered, so it would need to be saved, either as a new track or replace the original, in order to play back like that on other devices.

If the stabilizing was standard and other devices did it/understood it, then it'd be a different story.
 
VirtualDJ does not "warp" the file on a stable grid.
It plays the file on it's original form (unwarped) unless BPM stabilizer is engaged.
This is done so that the track doesn't sound unnatural as it's often the case with warped tracks.

Also the BPM stabilizer, unless explicitly enabled by the user, will engage automatically only during transitions. This means that the song will play at it's original form for the most part, and it will get "warped" only during transitions/blending.

To have a song play from start to end in "warped" mode, you need to manually enable BPM stabilizer.

Finally:
No, VirtualDJ will not export a "warped" version of a song on when doing CDJ Export.
Nor there are plans to do so.
Yes, Pioneer gear is capable to read that a track does not have a stable grid, and it can read all it's fluctuations. In fact Pioneer gear always looks ahead just one beat for any BPM related function and "ignores" what happens next until it gets there.
However, what Pioneer gear does with that information though, it's up to Pioneer..

That's basically what I mentioned earlier in the thread - that Atomix don't seem to regard the stabilizing as a major feature, when IMO it is.

It's something that had been requested here for a very long time, by myself and others. The ability for DJ software to correct (straighten) variable tracks in a similar way to Ableton Live's warping.

It's something that is simply not possible in any other DJ software, which is why historically some DJs have moved over to Ableton Live (which is really a DAW) just for that feature. In response to it, Ableton added a crossfader (20 years ago).

As a matter of fact, I think the editing is better/more understandable than both platforms you mentioned, especially Rekordbox.

In all cases, I can post a few tracks that none of them get right.
However, at least in VirtualDJ, there are parameters you can use to adjust the process (I think Serato basically copied this in their 5.0 beta too).





Well , definitely it’s not easy to manually beatgrid a track in VDJ . It’s a really pain to move every anchor for a 8-10-12 minutes track and hundred like this.
In RB & Djay and now Serato 5 just load track and voila…all set !
P.S. I’m talking about specific tracks (folklore and country )
 
You're talking about 2 different things - accuracy of the Fluid Beatgridding (where you can provide the track and we can see if we experience the same problem and the devs can work on improving the system) and editing a grid that was already laid out (which imo, VirtualDJ provides tools to do that much faster than the others).

As I said before, I can provide tracks that all of them fail on, and some of them fail on, so none of them are perfect.

If you have a problematic track, then post it. Posting about other platform
analysis experience doesn't help to solve that problem here.

BTW I play country tracks too for weddings, and analysis for the ones that are variable went fine for me in all cases I tried, so it's not enough to just say "country tracks".
 
First of all I have to say one thing , I really like VDJ , in fact was the first Dj software I have tested in 2007.
Now , my VDJ problem is with Fluid because like I said before I have hundred of tracks with perfect beat grids in RB , Djay and Serato 5.
Fluid gives me wrong beat grids. If I make it manually it’s ok but it will be a lot of work which I don’t.
Actually , Fluid make a great job for all other genres except country songs recorded from local bands which I played a lot at weddings.
Anyway , perhaps in the future Fluid will be ok for that kind of tracks.
Regards and congratulations for developers ! They are making a great job , including community support.
 
As stated previously you need to give examples of these tracks and also what the result is in the other software.

It's not going to improve for you magically.

The tracks are not available on YouTube , like i said , most of them are recorded from local band.
I really want to switch from RB but i have a few issues with VDJ, for example any changes i made in iTunes they are not appear in VDJ , playlist and hot cues from RB are not mirrored in VDJ , etc.....
 
Just the titles, and maybe if they are on Spotify, Deezer or any of the other streaming platforms.

Trust me, everybody here wants to help, even if it means admitting there is a problem for the devs to fix.
 
Yeah I don't understand the reluctance. Is there honestly a band in 2026 that has no online presence as is not trying to sell their music or make it available anywhere?
 
Trust me , guys …they are not interested to sale their songs because they are a cover band , they are only loco. They are interested only to get next wedding contract
