Hello VirtualDJ Team,
First of all, thank you for the excellent work on VirtualDJ.
I would like to suggest a feature that I believe would be very useful, especially for DJs who prepare long Automix playlists.
When dragging a track into the Automix list, it would be very helpful if VirtualDJ could automatically detect whether the same track is already present in the current Automix queue.
Possible implementations could be:
Highlight the duplicate track in a different color (for example, red or orange).
Display a small warning such as: "This track is already in the Automix list."
Optionally prevent adding the duplicate, with a setting that users can enable or disable.
For DJs working with playlists of 500 to 2,000 tracks, this would save a lot of time and help avoid accidentally playing the same song twice during an event.

If you play 2000 tracks in an event, I don't think anyone will notice a "duplicate" playback. :P

Anyway, a temporary solution for you is to use the "Remove duplicates" function of the Automix menu.
This will keep the first instance of a track and will remove the rest if duplicate entries exists.

I'm not against your (valid) points. I'm just providing you a temporary solution :)

PS: I always thought that keeping track of what you played, was one of DJ's responsibilities. Therefore, even if a playlist contains duplicates, you should A) remember that you played this track already, B) SEE (as it's marked with a different/red icon) that you played this track already and therefore C) skip playing that track.

Now if you just plan to leave a playlist with 500 or 2000 tracks play by it's own, that's a different beast.
500 tracks would take about 24/25 hours to mix if they are all radio edits. So, I can't see the harm of playing a few duplicates here and there within a 24 hour span. I doubt your listeners will listen and pay attention to the whole 24 hours..
