I used VDJ on Tuesday night, and part of wednesday night. I had used the data base converter. Tuesday night, I didn't have any crashes, but I noticed some severe gain problems. Tracks that I had played with previous versions were coming up with the gain cranked way up... past 3:00 on the knob. This caused some severe distortion.
So when I got to work on Wednesday, I uninstalled VDJ. (complete custom uninstall) Then I re-installed it, re-booted... then I converted the atomixmp3 data base, and started working. I noticed by the 3rd or 4th song that the gain problem was still present.
by the 4th or 5th song, I had a crash. I wasn't doing anything at the time. I just got a crash report. I chose shut down, after I had Atomixmp3 up and running. A while later, I re-launched VDJ and used it again for about 45 minutes or so, but the gain issue was really causing me some problems. Tonight I'll uninstall again, and re-install without converting the data base. I think that might be causing the gain problem.
Anyone else having this when using the data base converter?
(Only 11 days to go... are all the crash problems going to be ironed out by then?) I sure hope so.

LOL !
For your information, the database converter is not converting the gain from your atomixmp3 database file. I don't touch it, I don't even use it !
So it CAN'T be the problem (I don't use the converter as I don't have any atomixmp3 database left on my computer and have formated all the balups I have made before)
I have the same problem here in real party-conditions (and i have mailed steph of course)
It seems that there's a real problem with med/high frequency even when the gain is at the original position. To fix the problem, simply disable the Auto Gain feature and set the gain a bit lower than the normal position.
You will see that all the distorsions will have go away :)

Sorry... I can see where it seems I was blaming the data base converter.. It's just I hadn't had that problem with any of the previous betas, and when testing I had to consider all variables. Since having used the converter could be a variable I thought it would be prudent to test the same problem without it.
