Hi, I am revisiting the topic on the VDJ that came with DJ Console with no serial number.
I did some research b4 purchasing the DJ Console/VDJ and was under the impression that the VDJ software came w/ DJ Console is the full version. Getting VDJ w/ DJ Console is a big part of the reason why i purchased DJ Console. I first learn of the DJ Console from VirtualDJ.com's product page. This is directly quoted for the product DJ Console - "Virtual DJ with Hercules DJConsole is available in general consumer stores and DJ stores, at the price of 219€." It says "Virtual DJ", not "Virtual DJ limited", "Virtual DJ Lite" or "Virtual DJ w/ no serial". So i didnt even think it's a version without the serial number. I didnt see the "comparison" chart until after i purchased it and posted on http://www.virtualdj.com/forum/display.html?topic=2845 not sure if it were there. i thought i went through the site thoroughly, i guess that's my bad. however, even on the comparison page, there's no indication if the VDJ for DJ Console has no serial number. So without the serial number, besides the plug-ins, what else are we, the DJ Console owners, not eligible for? and do we actually own the VDJ software? or a lite version? or do we get patches to the software? (looks like VDJ does provide patches for DJConsole users but at a delay)
On Hercules' web site it says "Virtual DJ from Atomix Productions, a full professional DJ software suite" which leads me to think it's the "FULL" version. Other software included would state as "DEMO" or "SE" if they are not the full version. I actually didnt see the sticker "Specifically tailored for DJ Console" cuz it's such a small jpg image and the words are almost illegible. But if i had seen it, i probably would interpret that it means VDJ with software features that takes advantage of the DJ console's hardware instead of meaning "no serial number". Does "Specifically tailored" mean "no serial number"??
I think it's better that VDJ company notify Hercules of the confusing advertising which creates this situateion where some customers are upset after purchasing the product. i personally believe it's misleading if not false advertising. If Hercules dont change the way they advertise, VDJ should not continue to do business with them.
i think good customer support will gain loyal customers. As a business, VDJ company should listen to the customers. First thing first, it should update its website to make it more clear that the VDJ software with DJConsole is a version w/ no serial number and what's included and not included so future customers wont be confused. For ppl who had purchased VDJ/DJC already, i propose VDJ company provide either a Free upgrade or small charge upgrade to the FULL VDJ w/ serial number. VDJ can set a deadline for current DJConsole/VDJ owners to claim this upgrade so it wont go indefinitely. I know it may be hard to verify if a person owns DJConsole or not(maybe using store receipt, or proof of ownship of installation CD from DJConsole, zipped up files of the no serial version, or a combination or proofs), but it has to be worked out somehow so we can resolve this situation.

No, but they were not described as "full professional DJ software". This claim is still visible on the Hercules site so the first most customers will find its limitations is when they come to this site looking for a fix. That can't be good for business, now and future. I feel like I've been conned by Atomix/Hercules And I'm sure I'm not the only one.
Over the last ten years I could not tell you how many thousands I have spent on PC/Music Gear and software but I have never seen any other business behave this badly (Creative got close). To still be in a deal with Hercules, selling something that is clearly not what it claims to be and then just stone-walling your potential new customers seems just plain daft to me.
It would, IMHO, make more sense for Atomix/Guillemot/Hercules to apologise for the real confusion they are causing, take steps to prevent it recurring and offer a VERY generous upgrade deal (Steinberg etc do that without any prompting or cock-ups as happy customers keep coming back. I did with then, but I doubt you lot will see any of my money if you will not resolve these issues.

It's a limited version too, and less functionable than the Hercules+VDJ combo. You get some tactile controls with the Hercules, and pfl/cue via headphones.
For the price, this combo is good, VirtualDJ Pro + XP10 got to be even better value for the money though.
It's a "home entertainment pack", and still on level1 official driver release it works beyond my expectations.
OTS DJ is now supporting it very well, and there's more vendors to come!

I see that it would be very simple for VDJ to tell Hercules to reword their advertisment but they have not . They haven't even told us if the full version of VDJ will be included with VDJ PRO . Now does any one know the answer to that. I don't think so they wont even return my email about my questions about the VDJ PRO console . Now I know they read this forum. So here are my questions. Is VDJ PRO usb 2.0 or 1.1 and does a full professional version with a serial number come with it also.This means upgrades, Support, Skins, Pluggins or anything else that comes to mind.And if anyone can come up with any other question please add to mine.And if VDJ moderators can relay those answer to us . Then and only then I will consider buying any more products from them.I personally own VDJ myself so I dont need it. But I am upset about the deception going on here . And have to voice my opinion on this very important subject. This is not good for business.

Hello guys, I'm just coming back from shopping, happy to bring back my new DJ Console... As everybody certainly did, I have installed VDJ on my pc and then I went on the Atomix's web site in order to download some more skins or any other effects... what a surprise when I realised that we need a serial number to get this!!!! I then of course went to the forum since we often get good answers to any problem occuring on software/hardware installations. There I read all those 'poor' clients apparently abused (as I am too) by Hercules/Atomix. No need to repeat what bobojam argued so brilliantly but I just wanted to post another complain, hoping that Hercules/Atomix will decide themselves to fix this unacceptable problem.

DJ Walkers I read something in the french forum of atomixmp3, the program with the DjConsole let you configure atomixmp3 but nobody knows if we can use the botton for the listening into the Headphones because the most of the post are of demo user...
I don't want to buy VDJ because I don't like it... (my problem ;P ) but I want tu buy a license to use it in public with the DjConsole, but without the listening into headphones it's impossible to mix!

I've tried VDJ 1.08 with the console - and as you also can see/hear when using it as a soundcard, there's no way to route sound to the headphone output on the console.
EVERYTHING on the console works fine with VDJ full version, only a "Hercules headphone out enable" is missing in the control+sound configuaration. You'll only hear the scratchin' of the volume pot, it's active...but not... ;o)
The DJ Software must recognize/enable this function in the driver/hardware to use it.
I guess Virtual DJ "full" might support it in the next version, for now I have to use it with an external mixer and 4.1 setup to get pfl/cue on the music - then switch BACK to the Hercules version when I'm doing a little "desktop" or "bedroom" dj'ing..
No BIG deal, for me the (hopefully coming!) "passive" autofade is much more important - as I'm doing mostly weddings, receptions and birtday party's. Haven't got spare time to go clubbin' so much anymore ;)

I've using VDJ+Hercules from about 1 month. I've installed upgrade for this version (from www). Everthing was OK, but yesterday there was disappear a BMP column from song list (it nort possible to hide this column). There is also only left channel of BEAT meter on MIX station SV_04 Titanium skin.
Does anyone has additional problems with VDJ+Hercules combo?

Could you please tell me fairly if you think that my request is not justified.
