Okay, this is my set up - VDJ PRO, 1 TCV, I only have one turntable (Stanton T80 DD), I have a Stanton Mixer (SMX-201), 1 Tascam External soundcard with 1 stereo input and 1 stereo output, it connects to my Laptop through a USB cable ( USB - what does that do by the way?), I have a soundcard in my Laptop as well with 1 input and 1 output. WILL THIS SET UP WORK with my VDJ & TCV?? Some ppl are telling me it will some say in need 2 stereo inputs and 2 stereo outputs on my external soundcard. But, why do i need 2 stereo inputs & 2 stereo outputs if I'm only using 1 turntable???? Please help me out. thanks.

that sounds fine but i'm not sure if that card supports ASIO, if it does then the drivers from Tascam should be ok, if not then you will have to try ASIO4ALL ( a ASIO emulator) that will that basicly gives ASIO support to non low latency cards. Either way it should be fine. It is one IN and one OUT per Turntable, so if your using just one then your fine. TT connects to line in(card) and then card line out to the mixer. Make sure you have selected (line in) in you soundcards recording options and that VDJ is using the ASIO driver properly. Give it a shot and see how it goes.

This is a hard way to get your TCVs connected... You can use ONLY one TT, BUT you cannot use the other deck in VDJ. Is you tell VDJ you are going to use TCVs, both decks in VDJ are setup to work with one TT or CD-player for each one.... If you only have one TT, then you only are going to work with that, without mixing (you need another to mix).
That's why you need 2 Turntables or 2 cdplayers or one Turntable and one cd-player. Ok?
ASIO4ALL work with your both soundcards so VDJ could be setup with the 2 of them as they were only ONE 2 LINE INputs soundcard.

Well you can make a shortcut that will allow you to use the TCV on just the active deck, so the TCV will always be the active deck for entering the next song, you just lose control over the song currenlty playing, which is fine .. so yeah you can mix with one turntable.
