We've recently added a link on the main forum of this website to promote the radio. We've added many technical features to make it more professional for listeners. Now please be professional yourself. For example:
- Yesterday one DJ forgot to wake up and wasn't here during 2 hours planned by him
- Today another DJ is restoring his database during his session

Ok I can undertand some problems can happen, but imagine you were hired by a real radio... You can't say "sorry I forgot to wake up" or "I have a little problem I didn't see before"

These are only 2 examples, but there are some problems with other djs too. For example I saw another DJ who reserved an hour in the schedular, and removed it 10 min before his turn without any explanation. Ok there is an automatic emergency playlist, but that's not a reason to say "ok finally I want to go out with my friends so I won't mix".

On our side we can't do anymore things if some of you can't understand that. We all want to have a great radio, and the power is between your hands :)

I totally agree.

Why not to envisage a sanction for those who "forgot" too often?

the point is that somes Djs are specialised in that kind of non professional use of the radio.

We easely can understand that anyone can have a technical problem (as me on Tuesday, I had to reboot).

That's because Cristian Scott is mixing with an old shoutcast plugin and we can't retrieve song information. Please upgrade your shoutcast dll !

Dj Wee Man : 12.15 am gmt + 1 and no dj on the radio on March.03.2006 for the 12.00am to 13.00pm set !!!

I don't understand. Everybody agrees in the fact you must be more professional. Everyday we have more and more djs that want to mix on the radio. Today we're saturday, a day-off for many people, and a big empty slot of 10 hours !!
It's easy to criticize the font of the banner of the radio, but nobody criticizes these empty slots a saturday...
I even have the feeling that nobody feels really concerned by the radio. Everybody says it's the fault of others. So my question: do you want a radio or not ?

André Lamy has something else to do after his night in club. But he was mixing on the radio after it.

André is mixing in club in Canada and he was on the radio in the afternoon (Paris Gmt + 1) so for me it means in the morning for him.

Don't tell me that Saturday we cannot have Radio Deejays for the radio !! Saturday !!!

But without any sleeping Time, Andre was here on the radio.

He saw that the planning was empty

No mail no msn just mix on the radio.

I want to say,

I was in the radio night and day... Even don't sleep because I want to get the radio in 24/7... but I do it when I was here, behind the PC, but have to earn some to live and have to sleep unfortunately.

I have problem in my last planned hours, I apologize for that, but don't forget that I was HERE when NOBODY was, I took sets for long as they needed in order to have a DJ who mix after me. 8 hours in a row or 13 hours in a day because NOBODY was there. I play sometime in between 6am thru 3am of the next day... at EVERY HOUR I detect an empty slot. But last days I have some other troubles and I couldn’t do so.

I have not be in a set for maybe 6 scheduled hours since I mix in the radio from last July 29, 2005. When we got a week of none stop music I was there doing 38 hours in that week... and we could get more continued hours if only someone get one hour...

( But come on, 100 of DJs and can get a week filled? Just sign one hour and enjoy.)

I'm committed, and that's why I get 67 hours the last month. I'm letting more DJs to be in the radio, and for sure if someone COULDN'T make it, someone else could and does it like André Landry do it today. That's how I feel support in the Radio. Emergencies could come for us, and troubles too... I feel better when DJs can support each other in times of trouble.

I'm glad that we have DJs like Sizzle that took unwanted or unassigned hours... also other who backup other DJs.

Thanks to you all.

Acw we all know what you did regarding the Siel exibition period so you know that my post wasn't against you. You know that I know and we know so nothing more to say.

We have reactions regarding this topic and this reactions, we are noticing it , are coming from people who really care about the radio.

regarding the number of deejays : in requiring two or four hours (more if they want) on the radio and per month : is it too much in asking it ???

I can inform you that certains deejays are going to disseaper from the Resident Deejay list start tomorow. I will take care of this personnaly.

In doing a super job for the radio, Acw is also very kind and nice in helping us when we are mixing on the radio.

To stick to the title of this post: BE PROFESSIONAL!

being professional also means having a good sound coming out the radio. I'm not saying good songs (everybody likes different songs) but a good quality of sound.

So:

-Don't use the limiter in Virtual DJ (settings->Fame Tab), the limiter compresses the sound. If you don't want your sound to be saturated, put the gain at -2dB in VDJ and set the gain to always the same.

-Don't set the gain to "always 0dB" (settings->Fame Tab) if the limiter isn't activated and the gain is at 0dB it will saturate sometimes, and this setting also alters the sound of the music. As said above, set it to always the same, and put the gain at -2dB in VDJ when you mix. If you don't have a mixer you won't be able to change the gain of your songs with a different setting for each song, but this doesn't really matter, only very few songs have a power of sound that is different from others.

-And last thing, do you djs really need to have Master Tempo (Time-stretch) activated? It is much nicer to hear a little variation in pitch and speed of sound that to hear a music that sounds like: boom oom bom boom instead of boom boom boom boom.
Some R&B/Hip-hop djs really want this Master Tempo thing, then that's alright, but House & Electro djs don't need this option at all.

Thanks to all who will apply these settings, and radio team, this must be said to new djs while testing them.

Many times I was obliged to come in front of my computer to make an emergency mix because of white slots Maddsound.

Well for many deejays here, there is a lot of club mixes sets. It means that sometimes the house which is played can seems linear.
