Right now I'm using a HP TC4200. It's a tablet pc, I must say that scratching with the pen is quite funny, drag and drop is possible, however i preffer to stop one of the decks and then double click the song I want to load. It goes directly to the desk you have stopped.

hope it helps you.

I have a touch screen that I bought for use with VDJ.
It was more of a novelty than anything. Everything functioned OK, but it does sometime get frustrating especially if you try touching multiple things on the screen at once, which is necessary if you want it to replace a hardware controller and/or mixer. Conventional touchscreens don't handle that well... most take the average of the all points being touched.

There is a new touchscreen called the Lemur that allows multiple distinct touches, but it is $$, and I doubt that VDJ (or any other non-Lemur-specific program) would allow that functionality anyway.

Needless to say, I don't use the touchscreen anymore. My daughter now uses it to play Dora the Epxlora.

thanks for your comments.

I was thinking of using one along with a miniature PC (Mini-ITX) with TCV. I currently use a laptop but would like to build a more compact, easy to set-up system. (and it would be easier to expand / change hard drives etc...)
Any thoughts?

This is just a shot at night, since I haven't tried any of the systems I'm going to talk about, but have you seen micro-ITX or nano-ITX boards? also you can use a power supply like Pico-PSU, here is a link to that PSU but I saw it cheapper in other pages. http://www.mini-box.com/s.nl/sc.8/category.13/it.A/id.417/.f

I don't know how to compare VIA EPIA micro and nano ITX processors to AMD or INTEL processors, so I don't know how it would work with VDJ. There are also other micro-ITX (I don't know if there are nano-ITX too) that are able to mount other processors, so you don't have to stick to propietary like VIA. There is a blog showing how to configure windows in order to increase VDJ performance.

I also saw a Ebay store with afordable TFT touchscreens, the link is http://stores.ebay.es/Extreme-Audio-Electronics-Ltd
I'm not a customer, I've never buyed a thing there, so I don't know if it's a good shop or not, but they have pretty good ratings.

finally you need something like this keyboard, and you are on the go http://www.cartft.com/catalog/il/478

Hope it helps...

I'm sorry bro, u had to look some posts regarding touch screens. I had already told that u couldn't use touch screen for more than 1 movement, cause it works like a mouse pointer (a mean, affordable touch screen). U could save some money :(

Just started using a Toshiba Tecra M4. It is a tablet PC with the touch screen. It works fine with VDJ as far as dragging and dropping songs onto the decks. Can even push the play buttons and use the Xfader from the touch screen. Pretty slick.
