Whats good people,

Im gonna be doing a fair few parties and BBQ's this summer and want to invest in some sick speakers that will deliver clear bass and a crisp quality...oh yeah...and have to be able to be played LOUD!

Any recommendations on where the best place might be to get them and any particular make/models. I live in Southampton but am regularly back and forward to London town, so if anyone knows any decent shops, please share.

Safe

Go down Totty court road and go to some of the DJ shops and pick up a pair of JBL powered monitors.

Make sure if you go to Tottenham Court Road that you try to barter a bit with the sellers. Generally if you get the manager you can get yourself a bit of a discount.

lol exactly
whatever price they give u, say you have allraery talked to the guy down the road and hes offering it at 80% of what hes asking

They never like to lose a sale, you can go back between 2 shops for ages and get them down to almost 2/3 of what they started at. half what the price tags say.

make sure you go somewhere that has a large selection and listen to different speakers before you buy. jbl has great stuff though.

also keep in mind the speakers that sound fantastic in the carpeted music store will sound very different in a tiled bingo hall.

your ears are your best advisor. second only to experience.

Your bset advice is take advice from people that have them. Can save you alot of time and effort. Mackie and JBL are good for solid active cabnets and peavy are good for cheap passive cabs that will last well too.
