I want to record my mixes onto c.d. I have hit the record c.d. button but it does not record my mix.

When you set to record to cd it record your mix to .bin and .cue files which you have to record to cd using burning software.

Where are these files located on the computer?

Why can't VDJ burn directly to a cd?

VDJ doesn't have recorder built in. You have to open them using nero for example and burn them to cd (but not as data cd, you have to open them with burning software).
