I actually have one of the original "Digital Media Controller" from an early version of PC DJ from Visiosonic. It's shiny silver front if that helps. hehe. Can I use this with Virtual DJ?

you need to get the firmware upgrade chip from http://www.gizmolabs.net/ for it to work.

I use a DMC 1 as you described came with Old PCDJ Blue, ive done the chip upgrade from gizmo labs.
Have been using it with virtual dj for a couple of years.
With VDJ 4 go to CONFIGURATION at top of screen click on remote control tab and you will see an opion for DMC1, DAC2, DAC3.
also you can download mappers for these from the download section.
