I'm new to AtomixMP3 and using a trial version to evaluate it before hopefully purchasing it, it looks good, but I have a couple of problems to work on first.
I have been 'ripping' MP3 files from my own collection of music, mostly on CD's, using the standard Windows Media player.
When I switch to the library with Media Player, all the details can be seen, title, artist, album, length, etc.
But when I select the same directory in AtomixMP3 the tracks are there, but no artist detail in the 'artist' column.
I have started to include the artist details in the name of the MP3 file, seperated by a dot from the song title. This can be done using the 'tools' and 'options' in Windows Media Player.
This then shows the title and the artist in AtomixMP3 but only under the 'title' heading, still nothing under the 'artist' heading.
I am not sure if this is a problem with the trial version or I am doing something wrong when I 'rip' the MP3 files themselves?
I'd obviously like to get this problems sorted before I invest in buying the program, and before I get to far into 'ripping' my collection, there's a lot of it to have to do twice!
Sorry if this has appeared before, like I said, I'm new here (just joined today!)
Any help or guidance would be appreciated.
Cheers
Alan

I will check the details you mention, but I don't remember seeing these choices on the config screen?
From what I am reading elsewhere I think it may be down to the actual MP3 file title.
I have been ripping them in a format of Title.mp3 and I think I may need to convert them to Artist - Title.mp3 ???
I'm just wondering how compatible this new format would be with other MP3 playing software?
Although I'm thinking of buying AtomixMP3 I don't want to be forced into having no alternative?

You problem is solved with your own suggestion - Artist - Title.mp3 --- this is how VDJ and ATOMIXmp3 uses the file info in a basic sense.
As for you concern with other players/software --- most of your standalone media players like winamp, MS MediaPlayer, etc. use the ID3 tags so no worries there.
Have fun! Suggestion - get the VirtualDJ product line instead

Thanks for the suggestion about VirtualDJ, I have only just started to come to terms with MP3's having dj'd from the very early 70's and gone through the transition from vinyl to CD's.
I'm no longer DJ'ing seriously, from what I've seen AtomixMP3 looks quite adequate for my needs, unless you have any reasons for suggesting the alternative VirtualDJ package?
I'm always open to education.....
Thanks, Alan
