I AM ALSO EXPERIENCING A SIMILAR PROBLEM AN HAD IT HAPPEN DURING A LIVE SHOW RECENTLY WITH MY LICENSED VIRTUAL DJ 4.2r1.....I AM USING A SONY VAIO FE550G LAPTOP WITH 2 GIGS OF DDR 2 RAM (WHICH I HAD ADDED TO MY LAPTOP), A CREATIVE SOUNDBLASTER AUDIGY 2ZS SOUND CARD AND ALL OF MY MUSIC AND VIDEOS ARE ON TWO 500 GIG, 7200 RPM EXTERNAL HARD DRIVES...........BUT SINCE I REALLY DON'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT COMPUTERS, I'M TOTALLY AT A LOSS ON HOW TO FIX THIS PROBLEM.
