Tópico: Scaning songs too slow.... - Page: 1

Esta parte del tópico es antigua y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

I have the songs loading into my decks too slow!! the song loads ok, but it's slow, example for a six minutes song it's about 30 seconds of loading! it used to be a lot faster before and i cant find what happened!

Can someone help me?

I use a external hard drive Acomdata 160gig usb 2.0
Hp pavillion 5615ca 512 ram
Celeron 2.80 ghz

I really doubt that it is the laptop or the hard drive since it worked perfectly before... i puted it on network could it be the problem?

Thanks again!

What format are the files? I noticed for me that .wav files took considerably longer than mp3s.

Obviously with the advent of using an external HDD, it's going to cause a small slowdown. You could always test this theory running a speed comparrison with Simpli Softwares free HD Tach program.

Best of luck. I'd love to hear your speed results for the HDDs =D

are you using xp?

Make sure that "SpeedLoad" is set to "1" in the registry.
When this is set to "0", audio-only files load slower after any video file has been loaded. I'm not really sure about the reasoning behind that, but I think it was to give the perception that video and audio files load in comparable amount of time on older hardware.

how can i edit this in the registery? what is the procedure?

Yes i am using Xp

Before my External hd was loading perfectly, i suspect that i pluged it on home network, i don't know, i am formating right now so i can start back from scratch

I DId it! everything is working fine! only one thing, the hercules console is instaled but i dont have the little icon in the status bar down right.... anyidea why? (i know its not the proper topic)

now i have some crackles and the songs (mostly slows) sound like old vinyls... what to do? i have read all the crackles and pop problems over the forum but none fixed it :(

Reinstall Hercules drivers. DO NOT update to the newest (Vista). Keep the previous ones.

man, it's back, the files load 75% slower than it should..... DAMN :( I start to freak out here...

i have to put my reactivity to SLOW to have a decent load time..... it's really not good for the visualisation of the waves...... oh man what is hapening??

Your ram is also on the low side...

You could also check the following setting in the configuration menu:
- VDJ Config menu
- Video tab
- Video output -> Activate -> Disable (not checked)
Ewout

it's fixed, i bought a new laptop! lol

here is the thing:

AMD Turion 64X dual cores 1.66Ghz (512 L2cache)
1 gig ram
120 gig hd
Radeon express 1100
15,4' screen

sweet!

Oh yeah man it's so good to mix with darn fast loading! Amen!!!

For future reference, the key word to look for is CELERON. Do not expect any program that does any math intensive operations to get done quickly with a Celeron chip. That is why it is so much cheaper than a regular Pentium 4.

yeah i got the lesson now, nevermore celeron! but now i have instaled the vdj and mk2's but, i can't load wma's.....is there a codec pack downloadable?

check on the vdj codec options wma is set to wma (DRM) decoder:)

thanx a lot
