You can remove the FTP and windows will default back to the on board sound card.
Then try it, but I kinda doubt it's the card.
We have some access problems in eservice with cue users, log in and create a call ticket so I can look at you.

 
That is a good question,. I did that. and it work every time. If I run the on barad sound card it works. log on and off-- it works.
But I have 2 FTP's and I have 2 different laptops.

I have to feel at this point it is the software - Cue.

I could see it when I shut down the laptop and it would mess it up, but all I have to so is exit Cue and it messes it up
So I cant/dont- think it is the sound card's
and why on 2 different laptops with 2 different sound cards..?

 
Interesting results, gotta be the FTP drivers if the on board card is not causing the problem for you.

Do this, step by step
Keep the card unplugged.
Click start, control panel, system, hardware, device manager,
Scroll down and find the FTP card, right click and delete.
Shut down the system, plug in the card and reboot in that order.
Windows should see the card and open the hardware wizard on boot.
Load the driver disc when prompted and let the system find the drivers and install them.
Some guys have had trouble installing the m audio drivers.
Reboot again now with the card still plugged in.
Click control panel, sound, and set the FTP as the default sound card.
Open the program and click config, then sound.
Top box time code-none
Middle box, speaker with phone if internal mixer, external if external mixer is used etc...
Bottom box ASIO.
First drop box below, find the M Audio FTP ASIO card listing and select it.
Below assign your channels.

Then see what happens.

I did that. I even --- just got off the phone with M-audio. hge told me that everything looked good and to try installing the program that came w/FTP it is called --Live 4.0 he said it will only work in ASIO . so if it works it isnt the drivers or the FTP or the config.
he sounded like a nice guy that wanted to help me and not just blow mw off the phone. and say it isnt his problem. he did try to help me and it took 20 mins on the phone.


So I am back to Cue.. :(

I will go and check the IRQ settings.. I dont know if that is it and I have too muck on one IRQ. but i will see.. hard to belive it is the same setting on 2 laptops. but I will see..


Please keep helping if you can. I am trying everything I can think of.

How sad. I had call NuMark and talked to a guy there on thursday AM. he couldnt help me but took down my Phone # and told me he would call me back today or tomorrow. will tomorrow is today and no call.. wedding on saturday -----> :(~
 
Well I just got off the phone with a friend of mine who uses cue and had a similar problem.
Until he cleaned the registry and reinstalled the program the problem stuck.

When you say no sound, do you mean the player is non responsive or playing but no sound output?
 
the play botton lights up but it is non responsive and the botton on the DAC3 lights up too.
the wave doent move and it just doesnt play.
as soon as you go in to proforance ,move the slider, click OK -it start to play (move) and you can hear it.

in regedit there is only --Cue--- in there. I killed it and did a fresh install. Do you want to do it again..?
is there something else in the reg. I need to kill?
 
Cue is all you need to kill.
Then do a fresh install.

Numark was closed today btw.
I have been running Cue with the FTP for 3 months btw, no troubles.


 
OK well I have it down to the SKIN. I use the OEM skin. and I tryed a different skin and now I cant get it to work at all.

the 1 thing that is the same on both laptop's if the XML files. I scaned 1 HD for the ID3 and BPM and copyed that info to the 2 laptop. all the XML files.
so I am thinking it is in there that is messing up my program..
what do you think?
