The database is saved in XML format so you can easily access this information, so I don't really see the use of such a function...

It still will be a excellent feature. In the xml database are a ot of unusable positions and it will going to get a lot of time to delete them. If in the vdj database will be a feature, to mark the tracks you want to paste into a database and then copy it with "strg+c" it will be great!
