on atomix, when i would press the wand button- the song would start on beat.. but how is this done with virtual dj... is there a button to do this with virtual dj... ps. i do know how to set up short cuts and have done so... but i want to start it from the point there i selected.. and have it start on beat.. is it possible... thanks

try the SYNC button.... its the same as magic wand in Atomix ;) (i think... havent tried atomix in ages..)
