A question to Denon :

- The DN-HC4500 doesnt work in VISTA because of the way midi works in VISTA


What does this mean in practical terms?
- A fix for it comming from Denon?
- Vista midi broken ?


Just curious what to respond to users, as I bet there will be loads of DN-HC4500 users here soon ;)

My midi controllers work fine in Vista though, even the cheap Hercules does.

Vista can't recognize a multi function controller based on the same XP drivers.
Our device is a multi function controller. (USB Audio & MIDI Device)

USB MIDI is included in USB audio driver, but Vista can only recognize audio driver. (can't reach MIDI layer of driver)

But the Hercules box works, both with USB Audio and Midi, in Vista:)

Its this due to a VDJ fix. Or a driver fix from Hercules?

Just curious to if the Denon WILL work on Vista later on.

That is version 5 revision 4 ( v5.0.4 ), and yes there is a little gem in the Remote Controller section.

Can you tell me waht you mind with version 5.4 ??? Cos i have the money ready for buy it on monday.
Also to buy the Pro version so i can have it full working on virtual dj ??

I mind if is fully compatible on this version of VDJ that is new.

I´, just wating for know the sound conections that i ask before, work or not ? on page 12,

I also dont mind used wiht PCDJ. cos i have long time using this program.
but after use my 3.4 on my DJ Console from hercules. i like better VDJ. and last time i use the last demo. was really amazing compare to PCDJ

I want to buy the Denon mixer and the controler also. so i can do video mix.

But before sspend 500 for the controler, 400 for the mixer and 270 (think so) for Virtual DJ. I better make sure is going to work the way i need it.

So if you can tell me how to make the "SETUP" i mention before or if is another way to do it. will be very thank full.

You are right, that is a lot of money. So my suggestion is to take a deep breath, and wait a few days, till you get more info. It is better to measure twice, and cut once. The way it sounds to me, is that it is not fully compatible at the moment. So, do a little more research before you jump in the pool.

Once everything works natively I may take the Denon jump aswell :)

I will also make the change over to the Denon Cpntroller - but only after my Numark DMC2 fails.
I just Bought the thing and it works well.

I will get one too once they go on sale in the UK (Doesn't look like this will happen until the end of the month.)

I'm looking forward to writing an advanced custom mapper for it.

They are not done at all, please give them some more time.
I got the display to show track title and cue/play buttons light up and play.
Pitch works
ASIO works fine

Current support in VDJ is made purely as initial support, made in total blindness almost, as Dev Team dont have a controller to work with (yet)

But be patient, as Denon said:)

Can anyone tell me what native support means please?

Plus I just bought Vista ultimate for my macbook, will I be able to use the Denon HC controller with it or not?

Native support means you dont need to download user made plugins to make it work.

Native meaning its "plug and play" (supported natively by the software)
