I would look into the system that I just built and runs VDJ great.
Case:
http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16811133035
MOBO
http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16813131014
CPU
http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16819103773
Graphics Card
ATI Radeon X1950 PRO
1Tb SATA drive for the vids and music
300 gb SATA for Vista home premium
Now I will tell you this case is much bigger than a shuttle, but with the handle it is pretty easy to carry
ONE WORD OF CAUTION
If you do decide to get this case be aware that with a large graphics card you have to remove the HD bay forcing you to use the spot for the 3.5 drive bay, then I just bought a removeable hot swap bay

Any more questions give me a hollar

What kind of monitor do you use? and keyboard? I would like to find something that is not to cumbersome to carry around.

My shuttle pc died last week. I used it for about two years, but I think there is a problem with the cpu socket. The heatsink of the cpu is attached to the bottom of the case and to the back (heat pipe). But the case is just too weak: If you slightly push the back of the case, the heap pipe will move the mobo. So I think due to transportation (in a solid flight case), the forces and vibration on the mobo and cpu, have broken the cpu socket.
Since last weeks, the fan started right from the start at full power. The bios stated that the cpu temperature was about 120 degrees (even after it was switched on just a minute before). But it kept going, however it was a little noisy. On my Friday night gig, it just stopped responding during playing a song. The whole machine froze, so switched over to cds so nobody noticed.
So now I have to decide what to buy next: Laptop, another shuttle or a 19Inch rack mounted machine.
Ewout

I just plug into either of the 2 19" monitors in my 2 booths so I dont carry around a monitor, now the person you want to talk to is Dj Cyder as he has a rackmount with pretty much the same specs as mine except I got a better CPU and he uses an NVIDIA graphics card. Check out his blog and you can see what a rackmount looks like. Might take a few min to load as he has enough pictures on there to fill a picure album.

Love the Shuttle.
Blog shows my set up, now almost 2 yrs old.
When I do it again, it will be a Shuttle.
100% video btw.

Rackmount case.:
2U rackmount case with 2 fans, 1 front , 1 rear.
ASUS M2NPV-VM
am2 socket
Athlon x2 3800+ cpu 2.00 Ghz duo-core
2 GB ddr2 800mhz
Nivida 6150 GPU (assignable 265MB video RAM in sys bios)
Dual video out - directly off the Motherboard.
Soundblaster usb Card
USB 2.0 expansion dongle
extra USB 2.0 hub
I origionally built a rail system for the rckmounted mixer/controller and CPU case. but I recently bought a DJ Capsule from SKB to make things more neat appearing.
The rack case is much longer than the SKB case so I simply removed the rack ears from the very front of the case moved them to a more appropriate spot for mounting in the SKB rack and drilled and bolted them back on. Then I placed the Keyboard and mouse on top of the rack case section that jutted out of the SKB rack and drilled two neat holes for the keyboard and trackball mouse wires.
With the Heatsink fan, PSU fan, and case fans there is lots of cooling.
Been using this set-up for just under a year (or just over can't remember) done both video nights and audio nights.
I'm very happy.
Next is a quad-core system!!!!

I will add to Marcels post that the only way to make the dual out on the mobo work you have to use a DVI monitor and Svideo out to the TV, it will not work with a SVGA monitor and Svideo.
Marcel the AM2 6000+ CPU I got was a great deal 3.0 dual core if u want to upgrade a little bit:)
