Hi
I'm a beginner and have a Hercules MK2 but don't think this is enough(as far as I know).
I wish there's a guide to buying a mixer that would suit my need. I'd like to DJ house music - mostly deep house.
Anyone know if there's any guide to buying mixer. Maybe there must be some books on djing equipment that would be helpful but I don't know which.
Thanks.
P.S.: I ran into some stubborn problem with Virtual DJ and posted a question. I had only few response and couldn't figure out a way to solve it. I would really appreciate it if you can help me with this also.

Everyone is different, so you have to ask yourself a few questions first. The style of music you play may have little baring on the type of mixer you get. My first concern is form factor, size and shape. I don't care what a mixer can do, if it is not a 19 inch rack mount, max 4 space, I don't even look at it. That narrows the field down. I have to have at least 4 channels, meaning I can play 4 things at the same time. I have to have 2 microphones with their own eq. It must have a booth output. I can use knobs or sliders. I would like eq on every channel but can do without. These are some of the things you can ask yourself. Then you have to see what your budget is (that may be your first concern, not mine).
I consider the mixer as the centerpiece of my console, everything revolves around it. So quality means everything to me. I have been around a long time, and learn the hard way. So now, I buy what I want, not what I can afford. You are gonna get what you want eventually, so you may as well save your money, and get it now.
