dont tick , overclock or safe mode , as to latency this is decided by your soundcard and quality your system spec.
What is your system specification ? Which soundcard do you have?

i am running vdj5 on gateway laptop pent 4 1gig ram 60 gig hard drive and western dig 250 gig external hard drive
hercules mk2 for sound card
what does[latency] mean ---- using prodigy fx cd mixer combo by b-52
two jbl eon g2's and two jbl jrx118 subs plus one mackie 1501

I ALSO HAVE A DELL LAPTOP W/ 2 GIG RAM PETN DUAL CORE 100 GIG HD----- STILL RUNNING VDJ 3.4 FOR MOST GIGS W/HERCULES MK2 CONTROLER . WORKS GREAT!!! BUT I WANT TO GET MORE FAMILAR W/ VDJ5 AND TCCD BEFORE I put it on the dell. question if i put vdj5 on my dell can i go back to 3.4 if i want to .

check out this guide about the mk2 and timecode, you can go back to 3.4 but any changes you make to the database in V5 cant be transfered back as its a different improved format.
Latency is the time between a sound being created in the software and leaving out the soundcard.

im usiing the latest vdj5 w/ the tccd on prodigy fx cd combo and evry thing is working great. Im no scratch dj but now i have the tools to become a scratch dj ?? I just gotta practice now VDJ HAS GIVEN ME new hope. THANK U

I DONT THINK I WILL BE GOING BACK TO VDJ 3.4 EVEN THOUGH AFTER TWO YEARS OF GIGS IT NEVER CRASHED W/ HERCULES MK2
I just vdj w tccd is as stable.
