What settings are you guys using for video? I just got my s-video cable and got that to work, so now I can get it on the screen. I have a ton of videos, but I am wondering what I have to do when it come to the settings in Virtual DJ. Under the performance tab, the video tab ect... I want this this to be as stable as can be, yet I want it to be smooth. My computer is a dual 2.2ghrz 2 gig of ram 256 video with windows XP. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Anyone???

Everything looks good as far as the specs. Whenever a new version comes out I always do the same thing for testing stability. I hook everything that I can possibly hook up ( whatever you normally use for setup ). Then I run both a and b deck at the same time. Now here the testing comes in to play. I do multiple functions in vdj - folder searching, every function of VDJ I use during testing. I may not use the function in real life but I don't want to hit a button by accident and have it shut down, I jam a new song thats already playing in on one of the decks, load multi song at the same time. Do the same thing with videos. Load a song up and start playing before it finish loading.

If your using some sort of controller, then do rapid backspins, scratching motion, use transitions in a very quick change over. If you have multiple codecs. Load and play to make to system think quickly.

I even do mutli window functions like vdj, then alt / tab into another window and back again. I have to do this when I take new pictures and then set them up in the picture folders.

Basically you want to test your machines ability to respond quickly.

This past weakend while running video, I did a no no. I went into the slideshow plugin, then open, pictures folder, tried to delete one of the pictures. RESULTS: Song kept playing but I lost my video driver. I could do everything else exept anything to do with the video card. At some point in the night I had to do some mic work. I stopped the music, did the mic work and at the same time closed and reloaded VDJ ( 3 second ) put a new song in and no one knew the difference.

Bottom line is, VDJ is stable but you have to test your machines limits with the coding of vdj. I have 4 computers - 2000, xp, 2 Vista... I know the limits on each machine.

That is great I will do that, but I am wondering where you have things set. Do you have safe mode on, or overclockedf set, or latency, what are the different things on the video tab and performnace tab set to. These are the settings I get confused on and dont want to F something up from the get go.

Can someone help me with this, I know there are plenty of you that do video.

first thing is first jim,

tell me, do you wanna mix and scratch videos?

are you using turntables as in cd players or vinyl?

are you using a controller such as the nuvj, total control, or hercules?

I want to mix and scratch, I would be using cd player, I am not big on controllers. The wheels are too small and stuff.
