Thats why I would never subscribe to my12inch.com. I got it for free because I work at the radio.

Interesting note about the "DRM" and the other comment about "members don't need to worry". It kind of support the fear of the DRM. If that's the case (BTW I have no idea what a DRM is but I figure it's some control to keep people in their program) how does one subscribes to a membership but wants to play the videos on another computer that is NOT connected to the internet.
Some else as well. Are they legal. The bit about unlimited downloads for only $35 a month reminds me of the 12 year old who got fined by RIAA for illegal downloads. Her parents thought everything was alright because they were paying a subcription fee and thought they could download as much as they wanted. It seems it's legal to have the site but NOT legal to download it. Some will say it's legal for personal use but that's not what we intend to do with it, isn't it? (wink, wink)
It seems it is legal when you pay for each download but not the unlimited membership downloads (unless what they mean for $35 you can "purchase" as many downloads you want with no limit. You have to keep an eye on the wording of the promotion).

Sorry for if you disagree.

We are DJs. But the rule stills apply. We don't get special treatment from the labels unless you work for radio.
Last year I talked to a lawyer for RIAA about DJs giving out CDs of the bride's and groom's favorite music. They informed me it was illegal. In fact, if a wedding coordinator books that DJ to get that promotion then the coordinator is in trouble as well.
That's US law, though. I know the rules are a little slack in Canada and I have no idea of what it's like overseas.

You've been mis informed.
The rules are not slack in Canada, The service you mentioned is indeed Illegal.
as is limewire
as is producing mixtapes for sale (without licencing)
I refer you to:
http://www.avla.ca
http://www.socan.com
http://www.crtc.ca
If you know of any DJ producing mixtapes or otherwise distributing pirated music in Canada, those are the bodies to which you report them to.
Especially the first one. AVLA. Without this licenceing body no Mobile DJ would be legally allowed to operate in Canada.
I don;t make unreasonable statement about the United States, Don't make them About Canada.

Don't piss off the Canadians. They hate it when us bozos from the south make assumptions about their government and such.
