Tópico: Cloning. Keeping 2 PCs synchronized

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

Hi Just got back from a gig using VDJ as my main player. Sorry if these questions are answered, but I'm tired, and a basic search turned up nothing.

I've been working hard to get up to speed with VDJ. I'm using an HP DV9000 and a Desktop trying to keep them identical. The Desktop serves as my studio and the laptop goes to the gigs. I just added about 70 virtual folders and loaded them with appropiate genre of music...on the laptop. Is it possible to clone this laptop over to the Desktop? I can't seem to find any xml file that shows all these virtual folders. I also need to have all bpm info and searchs movable between machines also.

Is it possible to clone? Please, what files do I need to move between machines?

I have been using OTSJUKE and their Database is easily movable as OTSDJ.oml. I'm hoping VDJ is as easy.

Thanks, I appreciate the expertise in this room.

you are allowed to install vdj on 2 machines.

just install vdj on the second machine and copy all the xml files across which exist in the install directory. also check, you might have a virtual dj directory in My Documents and you will need to copy this as well.

However, you need to ensure that the audio library is in the same place on both machines. ie:

Machine #1
D:Music

Machine #2
D:Music

Its as easy as that.

There is a program which I bought a few years back to synchronize two machines called SyncBackSE. It takes a while to get used to but it's very powerful for comparing the files on two machines and making sure both machines have the same files.

Synctoy from Microsoft does a good job too

Thank you gentlemen. I will explore these suggestions. I have been using FileSync for a few years now, but I will check out the other options as well. I will sync the Virtual DJ folders and files between machines. I appreciate the help.
