If you don't know what an amp is then the you have no clue how many speakers you would need. I would recommend starting out with google to learn some info...there is just too much information to share in a thread. And we have no clue how big the room is or how many ppl your gonna be djing for...there's no way to tell with the info you provided us.

cmon guys, everyone has to start from somewhere.
but truth in villes, statement. i suggest you do some searching on www.wikipedia.com first and find out what an 'amplifier' is first. as for speakers, there are too many factors. start with how much you want to spend? also note that you can get good powered speakers with the amplifier inside. they are heavier, but you dont need an amp. not suitable for big locations, but small parties, they work very well.

Are we talking power amplifier? Or the energy drink? One helps generate the power needed to actuate magnetic coils, which are utilized in all speakers. The other helps DJs stay awake after 13 beers, six shots, and nine hours in a club.

An amp gives power to the speakers to make them sound. AMP = Amplifier. amplifying the sound using the power amp to your speakers.

What the..........never mind. May I suggest you hook up with a DJ in your area, and see if they will help you out. What you need is basic instruction, and someone willing to teach you.

If there were some way of identifying what country users were from then i wouldn't have to ask: WHAT COUNTRY ARE YOU FROM I HAVE SOME FOR SALE. Jesus getting sick of it I thought my flag idea next to the user name was a good idea?

thought mine was even better when i suggested it about a year ago with "country and state or county" maybes they could combine the two better visual idea altogether,

The site hosts the ip global position feature, seems like a much better feature to me....

It could be 'amp' abbreviation for 'ampere' a unit of electrical current....something we dj's all tend to draw a lot of on a good night. ;) And what it could cause is a lot of damage if you happen to grab on to a bare wire while standing in a pool of someone's spilled drink or whatever. Probably not the amp he's talking about though.....just a thought.

for instant recognition its not, you have to navigate away from the page and then back plus sometimes its slow loading that page and must take up some resources even if a tiny amount
where as country of origin plus region and flag would give a few a quick geography lesson without them even knowing it, lol and people could load it into there profile if they so wished

if you say 'i have something for sale' then interested parties could actually click on the little globe and see where your marker is on the map.... bad then again, bad idea. that would require effort and an amount of intelligence
