Maybe we need to start killing our kids. This is just another incident that seems to becoming the norm. Look here.

Makes you wonder how that kid was treated doesn't it Rick? Personally I think this kid should be forced to dig the hole with a spoon.

Thats sad. I would imagine people think the internet is just online shopping, email, and porn(deleting my history now). For most its a way of life an connection to many things that you can't seem find elsewhere. Its much like an addiction to drugs or any other bad habit.

I think your right when you say this is becoming the norm, more and more people over react to minor situations. That kid had major issues i think the parents were failing to handle properly, but blaming the parents or a perscription drug seems to be the norm too.

Issues or not, the result is still pretty messed up.

This is a general forum, anything and everything gets discussed here. From politics to gas prices (no I do not wish to engage these are related topics) from current television programs. to what does one member of the forum look like. We have open discussions on a wide variety of topics, like this one. I hope that helps explain why it is here.

The United States Of America. You need to get out more, and smell the coffee.

Shit, there's one everyday. If they are not killing their parents and siblings, they are shooting up a school. Don't let me get started. Oh shit, too late.

Spare the rod, spoil the child. Don't know where it came from, but know it is some old, old school stuff. Children are incapable of the concept of respect, but fear is a natural instinct. You have to foster this fear, until they learn the concept of respect. This has been going on since the dawn of man. This is not unique to humans, and is prevalent in most species, especially mammals.

When everyone started to smoke weed and use other mind altering drugs in the late 60's, these jerk-offs started the feel good movement. No more spankings, let's give them time outs, started treating kids as grownups. We are paying the price for that foolishness. We have created a world of spoiled, weak, little monsters. They get everything they want, and when someone tells them no, they have a tantrum, but this time they have access to weapons of mass destruction. Any asshole can shoot a gun, it does not take any courage at all, to do what they do. The only issues they have is lack of guidance and lack of leadership, qualities that you are supposed to get from your parents. We have failed our children.

My parents kicked our ass, on a regular basis. As a matter of fact, our neighbors were allowed to kick our ass if they caught us doing something bad. I'm not talking about child abuse, I'm talking about corporal discipline.

I grew up in the ghetto, and was bullied. My father told me to punch the bully in his nose as hard as I could, every time I saw him. Take the ass kicking, and tell him, "my father told me to punch you in the nose, as hard as I could, every time I see you till you leave me alone". He left me alone. No one ever came to school, and shot the place up. This is life, you fight back and move on. Now you can't even fight back, forget that most don't even know how.

My kids feared me until they learned to respect me. There was no discussion in my house, I was the boss. I have a daughter that will be 28, and a step daughter that will be 26. They were not angels, but they understood my favorite line "don't make me stay up all night, thinking of ways to make your life miserable, because I will."

OK, my meds have kicked in, but we need to do what they do over in Indonesia. Remember that American kid, that they caned. I can guarantee you he will not do that shit again. Look at their prisons, and then look at ours. Pain is a great motivator.
