Well, just recieved my new Dell XPS M1530 with Windows Vista operating system. I installed VDJ and hooked it up to the sysyem. So far, so good. I only played around for about a half hour or so. Videos, karaoke and mp3 files all seemed to work fine. I was pretty concerned about the Windows Vista operating system and have been putting off getting a new laptop for quite some time. While on the phone with Dell and ordering this, they pretty much dont want to hear anything about XP and will charge you alot more if you do go with XP. I let them sway me into going with Vista, which I told myself, I would not let them do that. I have not gigged with it yet, so that will tell all. I have a wedding coming up and will stick with old school and have the XPS for backup. When I do my next bar gig, I will give the XPS a full trial. I'll check back with ya's later after I run it.

Same here. Now I have the x64 version, and I'd go so far as to call it MORE stable than XP. in 13 months, I have NEVER had a BSOD. Part of this is that the OS will not let you use unsigned drivers AT ALL. That sounds bad if you're trying to hook up an obscure piece of tech built in the 90's, but what it really means is that your hardware will be either rock-solid stable or it won't work at all. With no middle ground, the possibilities for BSOD's and system freezes are reduced dramatically.
