Here is my PC for daily use:
Intel BDG33FB motherboard
Intel Core 2 Duo at 2.66 Ghz / 4mb / 1,333 mhz bus
Saphire video card, with ATI X1650 chipset, 512 RAM PCIe16X, (the SVIDEO output attached to a TV as a secondary display)
4 GB Ram at 667mhz, kingston brand.
2 SATA wester Digital 500Gb hard disk
XP PRO 64 bit edition
The PC works really fast, it is not loaded with more than necesary software, and its a clean instalation.
I owned last weekend the HC-4500 controller and VDJ and works fantastic, really really good. But with some .VOBs and some .MKV and large AVIs and MPG2s when do scratch, loops, hot cues, the video lags a lot... I mean, the sound of the video, scratches, the loop 100% perfect, but when watching the results on the TV, the video are with lots of lag. If the loop are too short the image looks like freeze but the sound is OK, when relased the loop, or the scratch, the video comes to normality.
This doesnt happend with small MPG1 videos. I dont like it a lot becase they dont have top-quality, but works great.
Whats wrong with it? Its my hardware? it is not enough?
I will build another PC more powerfull for video editing, and the otherone will do a clean install of XP, and will be used only for VDJ:
8Gb RAM at 667 mhz
Intel DP35DP motherboard
Intel Core 2 Duo at 3Ghz with 6mb /Bus 1333 Mhz
Gigabyte brand video card with ATI HD2600 chipset and 512 videoRAM, PCIe16X
2 SATA wester Digital 500Gb hard disk.
Should I use the second PC only for VDJ? I preffer using thisone for daily, and the fist one for VDJ.
Any commend will be very apreciated!
PS, I have set lattency on VDJ at 256 (5ms) that I feel that is fast enoght for my needs

I believe latency should be set to AUTO with that controller...?
